Story
We are Phila Community Builders and we like to say we are "Taking Pennsylvania by S.T.E.A.M". Of course, S.T.E.A.M is the Acronym for "Science, Technology, Enginnering, The Arts and Math".
Our Mission is to bring S.T.E.A.M Education to The Thomas Fitzsimons School. We will offer classroom training to both children and adults in cutting edge, technology driven areas such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Robotics & Software Engineering, Information Technology, Drone Piloting and Aviation Science. These are the valuable, marketable skills that will be needed for the high demand jobs of the future.
Our Founder, Terrell Guy is a native of West Philadelphia and he has a passion for computer technology, aviation science and the arts. He is a talented, award winning vocalist and keyboard player, as well as, a licensed pilot and software engineer. Terrell believes that every child should have the opportunity to explore the arts and sciences. He is committed to promoting the value of S.T.E.A.M education.
My name is Drew Wickline and I am also a native of Philadelphia. I've joined Terrrell, Dr. Reginald Taylor and Isaiah James to drive the marketing and social media efforts for this fundraising campaign. Our goal is to raise $1.5M. Your donations will be used to purchase the Thomas Fitzsimons School, fund the needed building infrastructure improvements, purchase the laptop computers and tablets for our computer science labs, programmable robots for our robotics and engineering labs, drone kits and flight simulators for our aviation science training center, musical instruments and other equipment that will be needed to launch our S.T.E.A.M Initiative in 2018.
Built in the Gothic Revival era of 1926, The Thomas Fitzsimons School was added to The National List of Historical Places in 1988. A majestic and wonderful building. Thank you sincerely for supporting our fundraising efforts.
