Story
20 years ago, a woman in Edinburgh finally received a diagnosis for the health problems she had endured for the past ten years.
There was little support and no way of speaking to others in the same situation
The PBC Community now extends to 9000 people in 71 countries worldwide. We are cited as a leading example of a patient group, providing a collective voice to those with PBC who would otherwise be unheard.We have always maintained that we would never charge for our services. Why should a newly diagnosed person be further penalised, or worse excluded from receiving support, because that information comes at a price?
The pressure to meet the costs of providing our services is relentless.
