Story
NOTTINGHAM & NOTTS REFUGEE FORUM:
We work with asylum seekers & refugees who have sought sanctuary after fleeing from war, persecution and trauma. We provide a place of welcome and assist them to cope with the many difficulties they face in re-building their broken lives. This year we have helped nearly 3000 people with information, legal advice, housing advice, healthcare, English classes, Welfare Rights and preparing for work. We have projects working with women, children and young people and those who are destitute. We desperately need your support so we can continue this vital work as funding is continually squeezed. Our Christmas Giving campaign aims to raise at least £5,000 by 31/12/17.
£5 – ingredients for a simple hot meal for a dozen people in our community cafe
£10 – a bag of food per week for a destitute asylum seeker
£15 - vital interpreting for 1 hour
£30 – hiring premises for one evening per week for the Youth Group
£50 - ESOL classes for 1 person for a term.
In this Season of Goodwill, please spare a thought for those we help, among the poorest and most rejected in our society & give what you can. You can make a one-off donation through this page. If you are able, please consider making a monthly donation so we can continue our vital work in 2018.
