Story
This appeal has been launched to prevent the closure of the Tees Valley based Nacro SWITCH (Supporting Women in the Community and Home) project, which is about to lose its funding. Unless new funding is secured, it will close on 31 May 2018.
Nacro SWITCH provides vital support disadvantaged and vulnerable women within the Tees Valley area. We help women aged 16 and older with a range of health, social, financial, educational or housing needs to regain positive control of their lives.
At Nacro SWITCH, women find they can build confidence and self-esteem to address issues that hold them back, such as social isolation, domestic violence, and drug and alcohol abuse. We then help them get into education, training or work. Our team work one-to-one and in groups and run a very successful mentoring programme. The ladies we help pair up with women who have been through the service or with experience of their issues to help them back into the community.
We really appreciate your donations to help save Nacro SWITCH project. If we are unable to raise enough funds to prevent its closure, all money raised will be used to fund other Nacro projects which support disadvantaged and vulnerable people around the country.
**UPDATE**
Thank you for your donation to Nacro’s SWITCH Project. We are pleased to say that the donations received have helped SWITCH stay open for two more months. This short extension to the service has already meant so much for the women who are helped by SWITCH. We are currently working on securing more long term funding for SWITCH so please spread the word and share our campaign on social media! We thank you for your generosity and appreciate the support.
“Switch staying open would mean feeling that people still care and I can keep getting the support I need from a service I trust.” - Natalie, SWITCH service user
