Story
The charity is encouraging men to grow a beard and help raise £40,000 to purchase a piece of high-tech equipment that will enable Template Prostatic Biopsies to be performed on island.
Registration to take part in the beard-off is £20.00 and it’s hoped that each of the 500 bearded wonders will raise sponsorship money as well. The stubbly challenge will take place this November and all islanders are being encouraged to support their local growers, helping to ensure that the money raised has tangible benefits for the men in our community.
The money raised by MUG's Beard Up and Man Up campaign will contribute to the purchase of the specialist equipment we need to perform Template Prostatic Biopsies on island.
Don’t be limited to a chin warmer or chinstrap, get creative with mutton-chops, sideburns or a goatee. We hope to see 500 islanders stop shaving for the month of November. Remember, if you are facially folically challenged you can always sponsor a friend.’
