Story
It was with great shock and sympathy that we watched the destruction of homes, properties and lives of the flood victims on the news recently. We heard the sad news that over 300 deaths were reported and over 2000 people were rendered homeless on the first day of flooding.
We join our brothers and sisters in the Methodist Church in Sierra Leone in mourning the deaths of community members and friends in Freetown.
***This is an urgent appeal for humanitarian support to the flood victims to avert further deaths and hardship. May Jesus be their rock of refuge and a very present help in times of need as they wade through this ordeal as a nation.***
All donations raised will be passed directly to the Methodist Church in Sierra Leone for their use in helping the affected community through the provision of emergency humanitarian support and going toward equipping the local church ministers to educate the local communities to prevent the spread of cholera and diarrhoea in the aftermath.
If the total amount raised for this appeal exceeds the funds needed for this response, we will use the remaining balance to support the wider work of the World Mission Fund. Thank you.
