Story
We have a very special team of brave men and women, all affected by cancer, who will be taking on the challenge of strutting their stuff down a catwalk in front of 600 people! Maggie’s on the Runway is a fashion show extravaganza which aims to raise vital funds for Maggie’s Manchester. But this event is about more than fundraising... In taking part, every model will have their moment to show the world how they can live well with cancer and the importance of not losing through the joy of living through the fear of dying. Maggie’s Manchester is a new cancer support centre in the grounds of The Christie Hospital.
Maggie’s offers free support to people affected by cancer and their family and friends, in a warm and homely environment. Here for anyone affected by cancer in any way, you can find cosy quiet rooms, busy social spaces, a large communal kitchen, and a real sense of calm. Our professional staff have years of clinical experience and are able to offer practical and emotional support to anyone who visits. There is no referral process and no bookings are needed. Simply pop in and speak to someone. However, in addition to drop-in support, we also offer a wide range of other services and groups.
£2400 pays for a day at a Maggie’s Centre
£50 means someone just diagnosed with cancer can receive immediate advice and support from a Cancer Support Specialist.
£40 could help someone diagnosed with cancer focus on their treatment and less on the struggle of supporting their family with our expert benefits advisors
£20 can help support an individual during cancer and its treatment through providing a greater understanding of the vital role of nutrition
