Little Village is like a foodbank but for clothes, toys and kit for babies and children up to the age of 5. The charity was set up in Wandsworth by a group of mums in early 2016 and then opened a second site in Camden. Since launching, Little Village has helped over 1000 families, supplying them with cots, buggies, toys and bundles of great quality clothes. Little Village is now opening its doors in Southwark and hopes to support some of the 8000 children who live below the poverty line there. We need to cover essential start up costs and future running costs. While it is a volunteer-led organisation, we still need to pay for rent, van hire, website and printing costs, new mattresses - these things don't come for free.

The Little Village community has helped families in some very tough circumstances: mums fleeing violent relationships, human trafficking, refugees with no access to public funding, babies sleeping on towels, kids with broken beds and no toys, newborns living in rat-infested properties as well as parents struggling with mental health issues, bereavement, unemployment, flood and fire. Little Village meets these families with respect and kindness, offering friendly and practical support at a time it's needed most.  Help us to bring this support to Southwark by donating to our campaign.
