The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileThe Child Therapy department in Clarendon Wing houses a Hydrotherapy swimming pool used to treat children with a range of conditions from Muscular Dystrophy to arthritis. The warm water helps children relax when their muscles are tense either due to pain or a neurological condition. They can then perform exercises in the water with a physiotherapist to help improve the range of movement or strengthen their muscles. It is often the only option available to physiotherapists when a child's condition is too severe for treatment on dry land.
Funds will be used to purchase multisensory equipment designed and tailored to meet the needs of the children we treat and the environment available. It will enhance the environment with specialist lighting and sound and include switches and equipment to motivate the children through interactive play. It will also improve the experience of children undergoing treatment which can often be painful and tiring.
