Story
Can you imagine Langport without its famous octagonal clock?
There has been a clock at the Town Hall since 1802. The present one dates from the late 1890s and was internally upgraded in 2012.
The clock dial and casing has been deteriorating badly over the years and if it doesn’t get refurbished soon, it could prove very hazardous.
Langport Town Trust needs to raise £7000 to have the clock professionally restored to last another 30 years. Scaffolding will erected that the clock face and casing will be carefully removed and sent away to specialists to be painted and restored.
We know many people love Langport , in the heart of the beautiful Somerset Levels, and we hope you will support our project.
