Story
Jessie’s House is a Day Care Centre that provides a nutritious daily meal and basic education for over 70 orphaned and vulnerable children, many from child-headed households in Zimbabwe.
Jessie’s House is named after Jessica Smith, the eldest daughter of Danny Smith, the founder of Jubilee Campaign. Jessica visited Africa and wanted to do something for the children of Zimbabwe but passed away before she could help. This project has been set up in her memory.
Jessie’s House is in Muzondo, hours away from the highway. It has poor infrastructure, no schools, and many child-headed households, due to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Jessie’s House brought clean water to the village for the first time. As a result, thousands of people within a four mile radius now benefit from this well.
Photographer Soren Rickards visited the project and said “Jessie’s House is changing lives in Zimbabwe.”
Jessie’s House was set up by Jubilee Campaign and Epiphany Trust.
