Story
She’s only 2 years and the littlest thing who came into our Centre via the Stray Aid having been found straying the streets of Durham.
It wasn’t just because of her sad story that she quickly started winning our hearts. She’s a fussy, loving little Jack Russell Terrier but our team quickly started noticing that her knee was causing her some considerable pain when she was walking.
So as always we’ve gone that extra mile when one of our dogs can’t and we got her into see a specialist this week. They’ve firmly advised she has a procedure to sort out this out. It’s called –Femoral Trachleoplasty Latteral capsula tightening! Essentially her knee joint is too small for its socket and keeps popping out when she’s walking, this procedure will help the knee fit the socket. Painful right? As it’s commonly understood to be a juvenile joint disease, having surgery now will stop the likelihood of it getting worse and prevent need for need more invasive severe surgery when she’s older.
Like most little dogs, Daphne loves to get into great adventures on a long walk or to chase her toys under the chairs but her knee condition is causing her so much pain she can only play or walk out a little before it causes her too much pain.
So now we are asking for your help – to raise £900 to cover her surgery costs and help this young little dog live a full life without pain – able to chuck herself about, walk out and play like any other dog.
Every single pound donated will go towards only Daphne’s operation so you can be confident in knowing that just £1 will help make a difference to her life. Please, give what you can.
Every dog deserves a chance at happiness and life without pain. While there are still walks and adventures out there, we are going to help Daphne get back on all four feet again.
Thank you.
