Humane World for Animals UK tackles the root causes of animal cruelty and suffering to create lasting, systemic change. We drive impact at scale by advocating for policy reform. We take on cruel practices like the dog and cat meat trade and care for animals in crisis responding to cruelty globally.

Story

Across Asia, an estimated 30 million dogs a year are killed and eaten. They suffer on a daily basis - in South Korea they endure deplorable conditions on dog meat factory farms. In  China and Thailand they are snatched from the streets – many of them stolen pets still wearing their collars – squeezed into cages so small they can hardly breathe, and transported for days before being cruelly beaten to death in front of each other. HSI, along with our incredible partner organisations on the ground, places a global spotlight on this suffering through our direct animal rescue, dog farm closures, political campaigning to change laws, and public awareness initiatives.

This lifesaving work is only possible thanks to the generosity of caring people like you. Your donation will help dog meat farmers transition to humane livelihoods, support our local Chinese partners in intercepting dog meat traders’ trucks, fund care for confiscated animals, enable us to lobby for better laws, and so much more.
