Story
In 2009 the Maison de Benediction opened its door to 3 children. Now in 2018, on average around 22 children are cared for each week, with a further 15 being monitored in the community.
The Maison seeks to help the most vulnerable families offering the love, support and acceptance that Jesus showed children with disabilities. In Haiti, children born with disabilities are isolated and frequently abandoned due to lack of long-term medical, practical and emotional support for their families. Often viewed as cursed, the reality is families often can’t afford to provide the additional care their children need.
Providing residential respite care for children, Monday to Friday, the Maison offers children play therapy, physiotherapy, medical and nutritional support, and much more.
Your support is needed to help continue the great work the Maison has been doing since 2009.
The Maison is in desperate need of new equipment, including an oven, a fridge freezer, a water cooler to dispense the safe drinking water, mattresses and wheelchairs.
The target is £4000, which will enable us to purchase all these items. It is also hoped that alongside the new oven and fridge, we can improve their general kitchen facilities and storage, as well as their bathroom facilities.
Please help in any way you can, whether through donations or prayers.
