The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileIn the past year, we have rescued an unprecedented number of donkeys. Due to this, and all the dear friends we have lost over the past six months, we have had more vet, farrier and equine dentist call outs than ever before. Worryingly, we have already exceeded our budget for vet care this year and now we really need your help...
It can easily cost over £3000 for the rescue of one donkey or horse (including transport, vet check-up, health screening, x-rays, farrier work and dental treatment) but this does not include their ongoing veterinary care, which is often extensive due to the poor condition in which many of them arrive.
The TLC for our aged residents also only increases over time with extra vet care, medications and healthcare supplements. In just the past month, we have had vet call-outs for vaccinations, microchipping, check-ups, x-rays and medications meaning we are now looking at yet another huge monthly bill of around £4,000.
We also have five donkeys imminently in need of major dental surgery, which will involve travelling five times to the equine hospital for specialised treatment. The cost for this is going to exceed £5000.
We have already exceeded this years veterinary care budget, so we urgently need to raise more funds to help cover the costs of our next vet bills... please help us.
Thank you.
