The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profile24 Harrow School Boys (many of whom have helped in the Night Shelter) have volunteered to spend a night sleeping out under cardboard boxes to raise awareness (and funds) for FirmFoundation. The boys will be building their own shelters and braving the elements in order to experience, in a tiny way, how hard sleeping rough can be. Please do support them to raise lots of money for FirmFoundation.
In just eight years the number of people 'officially' recorded rough sleeping has increased more than ten fold.
When one of those people walked into a local church he set in motion a series of events that would see him working and housed and the inspiration for FirmFoundation.
Each year in FirmFoundation's Winter Night Shelter women and men from all walks of life find a secure place to lay their head. People like Chris, who spent some time in our Shelter and gained accommodation in supported housing with FirmFoundation at Hope Place. After receiving support he moved into his own flat, Chris is doing well and regularly volunteers at the Night Shelter he once stayed in.
We would like to help more people like Chris, which means not just maintaining the services that FirmFoundation presently run such as the drop-in's with food and showers. Or the mammoth task of a Night Shelter and supported accommodation, but also making sure that we have the staff who can come alongside our rough sleepers to assist them through some of the most difficult situations of their lives.
By helping FirmFoundation, you will be changing lives for some of the most vulnerable people in our borough.
