Story
Solidarity is an integral part of the work we do here at Emmaus Lambeth - to help those less fortunate than ourselves. Each year we hold a major one-off event, with all funds raised via sponsorship on our Just Giving page being donated to two beneficiaries. These have been voted for by our solidarity committee and our companions - one UK charity that works within the homeless sector and one international charity. This year our chosen charities are The Pavement - the free magazine that has been providing life-changing information to the UK's homeless people since 2005, and Emmaus Iasi, an Emmaus Community in Romania. This year's event will be a 24 hour "Spinathon", an endurance static bike ride through the night, undertaken by a team of 12, plus reserves. Members of staff, companions and friends of Emmaus Lambeth are taking part in the event, which will run from 2pm on Saturday 1st September and finish at 2pm on Sunday 2nd September.
Details of the beneficiaries are as follows:-
