Story

Now in its 28th year, Earl Mountbatten Hospice's unique and world famous walk annually attracts thousands of people to walk across the beautiful Isle of Wight countryside to raise money in support of patient and family care provided by Earl Mountbatten Hospice. Founded by Bill Bradley & Frank Stevens, what started out as a small team building exercise for Morey's staff (now known as Jewson) has grown to become the largest fundraising event on the Island and the largest sponsored walk of its kind in Europe.

Every year, people who take part in Earl Mountbatten Hospice’s Walk the Wight raise a phenomenal amount of money, which enables us to continue to develop our services for Islanders and their families when they need us most, wherever they are on the Island.

Lush, green countryside, historic villages, famous landmarks, majestic chalk cliffs and coastal views with shimmering blue seas - Walk the Wight has all this and more! With a choice of five walks and distances, people of all ages and abilities can take part, making this a real community event.
