“I knew as soon as I got diagnosed that this was the place I wanted to be. But it is not a service you tend to think about, until you actually need it.” - Jill, patient
Jill features in the new 13 part observational documentary series focusing on the lives of the patients, and their families, under the care of ellenor. The Hospice gives viewers an opportunity to witness the incredibly therapeutic palliative care provided to all ages, from the very young to the very old, by the amazing staff and volunteers at ellenor.
A leading provider in specialist palliative and end of life care, ellenor is the only charity in Kent providing hospice care for people of all ages in their place of choice, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year, and Children’s Hospice at Home.
ellenor serves a population of 1 million, 90% of our care is provided in the home.
ellenor plays a pivotal role in local families’ lives, when they are facing the most difficult of times. ellenor is there through diagnosis and treatment – enabling limited time to be precious family time. Importantly our support continues after the loss of a loved one, through their grief and loss.
ellenor needs to raise £6.9million each year. Our work is only made possible through the generosity of our committed supporters, who enable us to raise the necessary funds to provide our services free of charge to patients and their families.
