Story

On Saturday 8th September, TEAM MINI SUNSHINE, a troop of children will be running the 2018 Mini and Junior Great North Run!  #TEAMMINISUNSHINE will be fundraising for The Chronicle Sunshine Fund, enabling us to provide specialist equipment for children with disabilities in the North East.

As a small local charity, we are required to raise just under £500,000 annually to provide support to children and families in our region.

The Mini GNR for 3-8 year olds and Junior GNR for 9-16 year olds is a new venture for us and we couldn't be prouder to see our mini fundraisers wearing their yellow t-shirts and balloons with pride. Many of our runners will be children we have supported and they won't let their disabilities stand in the way of them taking part in the event! Proving to be true inspirations, raising funds for the Chronicle Sunshine Fund and raising awareness of disability in sports, we ask you to give generously to support our little stars!

If you too would like to support TEAM MINI SUNSHINE and already have a place in the Mini or Junior GNR, contact lauren.thompson@trinitymirror.com or call 0191 201 6090. We would love to have you running with our t-shirt and balloons to raise awareness!
