Story
We follow the incredible story of a patient we attended last Christmas who despite suffering over 50% blood loss, a shattered pelvis, a broken femur, a broken back, 12” wound down to the spine, internal bleeding and a haemothorax, is this year spending Christmas together with her family, and that’s all thanks to the fantastic support of the people of East Anglia.
On 30th December 2016 Alison Allen was travelling towards Mildenhall when her vehicle was struck by another car in a head on collision. The impact of which was so powerful it caused her own jeans to cut into her back and down to her spine. Alison’s injuries left her fighting for her life, but her courage and determination to recover means that this year, nearly one year on, she will spend Christmas together with her loved ones.
Alison said; “I know the surgeons, consultants and their teams worked miracles on me, BUT, if it hadn’t been for the amazing EAAA team saving me, there wouldn’t have been any work for them to do”.
They say it’s not what’s under the Christmas tree that counts, it’s who’s around it. You could help us to help keep loved ones together this Christmas by donating.
EAAA receive no regular government funding and, in an attempt to raise the cost of a mission this Christmas - which currently stands at £3,500 - we have launched our 2017 Christmas campaign thanks to Alison's incredible story.
