Story
Migrants in and around Calais are living in appalling conditions including pregnant women and very young children, many of them unaccompanied. Many lack essentials such as safe drinking water, adequate food, sanitation and proper shelter. This is causing a huge number of health problems among the migrants including mental trauma, respiratory and skin problems and stomach disorders.
Doctors of the World is the only charity providing medical help on the ground in Calais. We currently have two field clinics in the main camp where a team of volunteer doctors and nurses provide essential medical consultations, counselling and psychological support services to the migrants.
But the needs are huge right now and much more needs to be done.
£100 could pay for a doctor and two nurses to staff the clinic for one day
£20 could provide a course of antibiotics
£5 could provide bandages/ dressings for an injured migrant
Every donation will help us provide crucial support. Thank you!
