Story
Join us on our London Bridges Challenge this October and get sponsored to walk almost 10 miles from West to East London along the city's iconic bridges, to raise money for Diabetes UK.
We’ll start in beautiful Battersea Park this year before criss-crossing some of London’s most iconic brides as we walk along the River Thames. You can stroll along, walk it with your family, or even choose to jog the route, however you want to do it everyone is welcome. However you take part, you’ll step towards a healthier you and a future where diabetes can do no harm.
At the moment it does too much.
Each week thousands of people in the UK suffer heart attacks, heart failure, stroke, amputation and blindness because of their diabetes. But when people manage their diabetes well they can avoid these life-threatening complications and stay healthy.
We provide information, care and support for everyone with diabetes so they can manage their condition well. Our campaigns improve life for people with diabetes while our research develops new treatments, technologies and will, one day, find a cure.
But we need your help to do it. That’s where you and your fundraising come in. It’s time to step up for people with diabetes.
Here’s how your fundraising could help:
£12 could respond to a query from our helpline.
£78 could keep the Helpline open for 1 hour.
£100 could pay for the genetic test needed to determine which type of diabetes someone has.
£200 could pay for enough lab ‘consumables’ like gloves, tubes, pipettes and solutions, needed for one month of research.
We're here to support you every step of the way.
