The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileThe Connection at St Martins (the UKs busiest homelessness centre) has it's own dedicated Employment & Training service, Workspace.
Why is this in need? Because homeless people face significant barriers when securing and sustaining employment. Many do not have recent experience and lack the 'soft skills' required by employers, like confidence and good communication. A history of homelessness can also stigmatise people, deeming them less desirable in the eyes of the employer, particularly when there is high competition for posts.
Every year, Workspace helps over 500 disadvantaged people who have experienced street homelessness to improve their employability and job prospects.
Support includes:- CV workshops- employability workshops which develop peoples' soft skills- information and guidance on searching and applying for jobs- accredited training opportunities- volunteering opportunities- external work placements- in-work support
