Story
The Big Yellow White Out Appeal.
As I’m sure you know, Big Yellow Friday is our biggest fundraising day of the year, as people throughout the UK take part in yellow themed activities to raise much needed funds to fight childhood liver disease.
And as I’m sure you will also know, Big Yellow Friday this year was the day that the Beast from the East really hit.
Friday March 2 saw huge amounts of snow across large areas of the UK. Schools were closed, offices shut early, people were advised not to travel and many Big Yellow Friday events had to be cancelled.
For those of you who did manage to take part or reschedule your event, we say a huge thank you. It was a heroic effort and we hugely appreciate it. For many people, however, this just was not possible. We know how much time and planning goes into a Big Yellow Friday event - they cannot always simply be rearranged.
So we are launching our Big Yellow White Out Appeal to ask people if they can spare a small donation to help CLDF following the huge disruption to the most vital day in our fundraising year.
Big Yellow Friday is a key part of our annual fundraising programme and even small events, such as coffee mornings, make a valuable contribution.
For every event that couldn’t take place, CLDF have lost on average £100 which could have paid for 20 information packs for families following a life changing diagnosis or funded five hours of telephone support for a young person struggling with their diagnosis or treatment.
Any gift, even the price of a couple of yellow cakes, will help as we try to make up the £25,000 shortfall which we have lost to the snow.
Please join the fight against childhood liver disease.
With best wishes
The CLDF Team.
