Story
CLASP Charity has been working the last 2 years with NHS 111,the Government, Dept of Health, local Councils and many more to provide, aMental Health Wellbeing and Suicide Prevention service on NHS 111.
With your support, we know together we can make a difference, increase mental health awareness, end the stigma and save lives. In 2010, over 5,608 completed suicide and in 2014, the number had increased to 6,233 people completing suicide in the UK (a suicide every 80 minutes).
Suicide is the UK’s 2nd biggest killer of young men and is the leading killer of teenage girls worldwide. One suicide is too many; we need a suicide prevention intervention helpline on NHS 111, which goes beyond other services current available and offers instant medical assistance, practical advice and suicide intervention.
We needfully trained mental health nurses at the other end of the NHS 111 service, who are ready to assist any individual experiencing problems with their mental health or suicidal thoughts.
