Cardiomyopathy UK is the sole UK charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by heart muscle disease, cardiomyopathy. Cardiomyopathy affects the heart's ability to pump blood effectively around the body producing a variety of symptoms, often leaving people struggling to cope and, without diagnosis and medication, at risk of sudden cardiac death. Cardiomyopathy is mainly inherited and affects at least 1 in 500 people in the UK – that’s over 160,000 children and adults. Raising awareness about cardiomyopathy is invaluable to the charity and families living with the condition.
