Story
Little Bird Artisan Markets have chosen to support the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in memory of owner Jackie’s Dad who died following a heart attack in 2010. By working with the BHF, we hope to raise awareness about heart disease among the stall holders and market attendees. We’ll also be making regular donations to the BHF, arranging a sponsored skydive and you’ll see BHF stalls at a selection of our markets.
The money raised by the Little Bird Artisan Markets will help to fund the BHF’s life saving research into heart and circulatory diseases - one of the biggest killers in the UK. It takes research to save lives, and some of the BHF’s ground-breaking work is happening locally at the University of Leeds, where they currently fund 50 projects at a cost of £22 million to research better treatments for conditions such as heart attack, heart failure and type 2 diabetes.
