Story
The British Society of Echocardiography is a registered charity which represents and supports clinical echocardiography professionals working at all levels and in all areas of the field. Their aim is to provide our members with the necessary support to deliver the highest standard of care in echocardiography.
This year, their annual conference, BSEcho 2020, will be held virtually for the first time in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. #BSEMiles is their way of coming together as a community again. In April, 66 BSE members took on the #RunBSE challenge on social media, some with families and friends, to run, walk and ride over 340 miles - that’s more than 13 marathons! At BSEcho 2020 they want to build on that, so they are calling on you to walk, run, cycle or swim as many miles as you can to see how far we can go together throughout the conference!
For instance, to get from BSE headquarters to EACVI headquarters is 853 miles. 1900 miles will take us to Luigi Badano’s clinic. If we can accumulate 3874 miles, we can reach Madhav Swaminathan and 5546 miles would see us in Mexico City with Daniel Sierra Lara-Martínez!
It’s easy to take part, just track your miles, let them know on Twitter and Instagram using #BSEMiles and they’ll keep the running total.
