Men and women sleeping on the streets of Brighton and Hove is sadly an all too familiar sight.
The average life expectancy of a man living on the streets is 47 and for a woman just 43 years. Being street homeless is devastating: homeless people are 35 times more likely to commit suicide than the rest of the community.
Thankfully, First Base Day Centre provides a lifeline to people in crisis. We provide a warm welcome, hot food, showers and specialist one-to-one support to help people move on from life on the streets.
Each day First Base welcomes in around 100 men and women. By supporting us you are helping us to ensure we can provide help to everyone who needs it.
