Story
Spending time in hospital is never easy, but at Christmas it can be especially difficult. With your help, our send a Smile with Santa appeal will keep the magic alive for the hundreds of children and older patients across the hospitals we support this festive season.
By donating on this page, you’ll help to make this possible. You’ll be helping the Children’s Play Team and the Older People’s Services across our hospitals to:
- Get presents for patients
- Decorate and keep the wards festive
- Buy extra equipment and materials
…and deliver the most extraordinary care possible, not just this Christmas but into 2018 too.
Here’s the difference you could make:
It was Christmas Eve 2014 – aged just seven months old – when Tyraah was diagnosed with retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer affecting children. This was a devastating time for the whole family.
She’s received chemotherapy and other treatment and now regularly visits The Royal London Hospital for check-ups, along with her little sister Mariaah who has the same eye gene.
To spend Christmas in hospital could so easily destroy the magic for children like Tyraah and Mariaah, but with your support, we can keep the magic alive.
The Children’s Play Team and Older People’s Services that our appeal supports work tirelessly at Christmas and throughout the year to deliver extraordinary healthcare to patients and keep morale as high as possible.
As Jade, Tyraah and Mariaah’s mum, says: “The Play Team are a massive part of our lives. They make Tyraah’s time there fun and easier; my children adore them and the whole team are fantastic.”
Your donation will support the Children’s Play Team and Older People’s Services to make more life-changing differences.
Please donate and Send a Smile today. If it’s easier, you can text SMLE22 £5 to 70070. Thank you.
