Story
We are planning to further develop our Heritage Centre by acquiring artefacts and memorabilia of interest to visitors and academics. The Black Dyke Band is not only unique in the history of the development of brass bands but is amongst the few that have survived over 160 years still to retain its premier position as a world leader.
At Black Dyke Band we are seeking to preserve and enhance our collection of artefacts and memorabilia so visitors can share the experience of our heritage both by visiting our Heritage Centre and/or online via our website - Black Dyke Heritage
We are raising funds to maintain and develop our collection and to sustain the fabric of our historic building which has housed the Black Dyke Band for over 162 years.
The band receives no sponsorship and raises funds for the band through giving over 30 concerts each year.
All funds raised will be given towards the upkeep of our Heritage Centre to maintain our building and to develop and improve our collection in order to preserve our history for future generations through our displays and also through our educational outreach work in schools.
