Story
Muslim women are among the poorest, most educationally disenfranchised and politically marginalised group in India. They suffer from low literacy levels; as low as 19%, less than half of that of women from other communities.
Young girls, especially orphans, in Muslim communities face considerable challenges as citizens of India. Our mission is to nurture and develop Muslim orphan girls to achieve their full potential in a safe and secure, faith based environment; to become confident and active citizens of India and serve the Muslim community and the wider society.
Currently there are over 900 girls in attendance, 40% of whom are orphans
Their accomodation and sanitary conditions are inadequate. We welcome general sadaqah and zakah donations to this cause. Alternatively, consider sponsoring one of our girls for a whole year with a one off donation of £150 (£12.50 a months)
Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The best house among the Muslims is the one in which an orphan is treated well. The worst house among the Muslims is the one in which an orphan is treated badly. The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be in Paradise like this,” and he held his two fingers together to illustrate.
