What difference does a shower make?
Gert: “I remember coming here to the Barons Court Project], friends told me about it, I remember coming through the door and having a shower first thing. I had a shave, that was a big thing”.
Toni was homeless and needed support to help look for work, sadly he had been robbed and lost his money. We were able to give him access to a shower, a meal and to help him print off his C.V. Two days later Toni had a job, and was able to rent a room. We were delighted that he found work so quickly. On his days off Toni has come back to the project to volunteer and give something back.
The Government states that the number of people reported sleeping rough in London has more than doubled between 2010 and 2015. Recent figures show that there was a rise of 7% across London in 2015-16. We have noticed a dramatic increase in the number of people needing our service.
Your donation will contribute to a rough sleeper’s first step towards change, rejuvenation and dignity. A step off the streets on the road to recovery.
