Story
There is a shortage of vital equipment in maternity units throughout the country. The majority of NHS Trusts in the UK have made applications to the charity for funding this year, and over half requested fetal monitoring equipment and associated training.
Baby Lifeline’s nationwide ‘Monitoring for Mums’ major appeal will raise funds, region by region, for this much needed technology and training, which can help save thousands of babies’ lives.
As well as reducing stillbirth rates, fetal monitoring can help avoid brain injury, causing conditions such as cerebral palsy. NHS England confirm that CTG (cardiotocography) is a well-established method of confirming fetal well-being and the best method available to monitor a fetus during high risk labour.
Please help us achieve our fundraising target by supporting the ‘Monitoring for Mums’ appeal in your community. It is highly likely that a maternity unit or hospital near you is in need of vital, life-saving monitoring equipment.
