Garda 4 Peaks Challenge
Members of An Garda Síochána from all over Ireland will take on a 4 Peaks Challenge in May 2017, to raise vital funds for Aware’s depression support and mental health education programmes.
Story
A team of Gardaí will climb the highest mountain in each province of Ireland over the course of just three days:
May 19 2017: Carrantuohill, Co. Kerry
May 20 2017: Mweelrea, Co. Mayo & SlieveDonard, Co. Down
May 21 2017: Lugnaquilla, Co. Wicklow
On the final day there will also be a 4 Walk Challenge for members of the public who want to get involved.
Members of An Garda Síochána throughout Ireland are hugely supportive of Irish charities each year and this campaign offers the force the opportunity to raise funds for a national charity which is also providing key services for local communities nationwide.
All funds raised from the event go to Aware’s support,education and information services for individuals, families and communities throughout the country.
Aware relies on fundraising events like this, as well as corporate and public donations, for 85% of its annual funding.
