Story
Marriott Asia Pacific supports the development of youth and women leaders. Sponsored by Craig Smith, President of APAC and Peggy Fang Roe, CSMO of APAC, Marriott actively supports the AUW through mentors, internships, jobs and scholarships. We invite you to help support this important cause for the development of talent and future leaders in Asia Pacific.
ASIAN UNIVERSITY FOR WOMEN (AUW) is an independent, international university in Chittagong, Bangladesh seeking to educate a new generation of leaders in Asia. AUW admits students solely on the basis of merit, regardless of nationality, religion or economic background.
AUW has two key initiatives, the first is the Access Academy, a year-long program that develops students academically, socially, linguistically and culturally before their admission to AUW degree courses. The second is Pathways for Promise which provides full scholarships for girls working in Bangladesh’s garment factories.
Peggy Fang Roe, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Asia Pacific, visited the University earlier this year and was blown away by the experience the AUW has created for the young students, “The women we met were bright, passionate, articulate and ready to change the world. We, @Marriott love the mission of AUW and look forward to supporting the women and the organization”.
Marriott’s support allows AUW to give more girls the opportunity to attend this life-changing university, enabling them to transform their own lives, those of their families and their communities across Asia.
