Story
Ark Conway and our Parent Forum are working together to fund the renovation as there is no set national funding for school libraries.
Our school building is a former library and we are planning to restore our beautiful old library to its former glory, by introducing hundreds of new books, re-organising the whole library system and expanding the space. As our school office has now moved to our new building, we are opening up the library to include the beautiful marble stone atrium and, if we can afford to, we will be buying some new furniture to enhance the space and offer a purposeful, accessible space for all our pupils.
Our goal is to create a cosy and welcoming, yet inspiring library. Nurturing for those who want a quiet moment to read a story in a corner, but also a place where our students can pick up a challenging book and where everyone can feel inspired to learn. The library will be used throughout the entire school day, for small group lessons, library sessions and free choice time.
We are working with the Westminster Library School service and based on many guidelines and their advice, we are aiming to fill our library with 3000 books! We require your help and any donations are gratefully received.
If you can donate even just £4, this will buy us a fictional paperback while £10 will buy us a non-fiction hardback book. Every penny counts so if you can, we’d really appreciate your kind donation towards this fantastic cause.
Thank you.
