The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileAll of us know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. It’s a terrible, life stealing, obnoxious, draining disease. And it’s on the increase.
Stealing away our families, friends and colleagues.
In partnership with Breast Cancer UK, We’re looking to raise £90,000 to fund a three year project which will examine different environmental chemicals and their impact on breast density. Breast density is one of the most common risk factors for breast cancer.
Instead of using mice, which the majority of breast cancer research does, our research will use human cells from biobanks across the UK and also internationally. Human cells, for human diseases. October is breast cancer awareness month.
This October and beyond, we’re asking you to support our animal free breast cancer research.
The money raised from our ‘Get Your Frock on!’ campaign will fund a ground breaking three-year research project, looking at the impact of environmental chemicals on breast density, a major risk factor for breast cancer.
In 2016, nearly four million animals were used in medical research, however much of this research is ineffective when translated to humans and most of the animals are destroyed afterwards.
This research will help us understand more about what causes breast cancer and may help us prevent it. 11,400 people die from breast cancer each year in the UK. This number is rising.
Join us, as innovators, forward thinkers and lifesavers.
So whether you're an individual, a school, or in a workplace, please come together and ‘Get Your Frock On!’ and ‘dress smart to help us get smart with animal free research into breast cancer’.
