Sign up for the Kenya Peace Torch Relay at run4peace.co.uk. Be one of up to 1,000 torchbearers each running 10km with endurance athlete Adam Holland to raise at least £100 each in sponsorship for creation of a peace school between the Turkana and Pokot in Northern Kenya, where ethnic violence has left over 600 people dead and 435,000 displaced since 2014.
Building on the 2015 Champions Walk for Peace, which raised over £60,000 towards £160,000 needed for the peace school, this is a 10-day, 1,000km relay through some of the UK’s biggest cities, 21-30 October 2016.
The torch began its journey in 2015, carried by some of the World’s top athletes (inc. Wilson Kipsang & Tegla Loroupe) through Kenya’s conflict-affected northern counties. It was passed to Rob Young and Adam Holland at the 2015 Great North Run – who ran 3,500km round the UK with it in 25 days! This short film shows the journey so far – and the difference you could make by joining in now: https://youtu.be/QvQgwVKAvu4
