The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileMichael Bond’s family has asked that donations made in his memory are passed to Action Medical Research – Paddington Bear’s favourite UK charity.
Michael Bond was involved with children’s charity Action Medical Research for over 40 years, following a meeting with our founder Duncan Guthrie in 1976, where it was agreed that Paddington would support the charity as its official mascot.
Through this very special relationship, Paddington Bear has helped us to attract thousands of new supporters who together have raised millions of pounds to help sick babies and children.
Michael Bond brought great joy to so many children (and adults!) through his wonderful stories following the adventures of Paddington. He was also aware, following personal experience involving his daughter, of the desperate need for medical research into the vast range of medical conditions which can affect babies and children.
Michael is deeply missed, but his legacy through Paddington and his other work lives on.
Please join us in celebrating the life of such a magnificent writer and help support the children’s charity which Paddington has been part of for over 40 years.
