Story
Walk with M.E. is the brainchild of Action for M.E. fundraiser Natalie, who was diagnosed in 2010. This year, thanks to the generous family trust, every penny raised through Walk with M.E. will be doubled.
We’re asking our supporters to set up Walk with M.E. teams. Each team will walk a total of 1 million steps in 100 days, from 1 February until M.E. Awareness Day on Saturday 12 May.
That’s an average of 10,000 steps per day, “quite achievable for most, but a lot for someone like me,” explains Natalie.
“The challenge is therefore designed to be completed in teams, which means my team mates can help me out and donate their steps to help me achieve my target.”
Get involved
To be part of Walk with M.E., simply follow these five easy steps:
1. Get your team together. Teams can be any size so spread the word among as many family members, friends, colleagues, and neighbours as possible! 2. From this page, click ‘Start Fundraising’ to set up your teams fundraising page. Our Fundraising Team will then get in touch to share tips, support and fundraising materials.
3. Ask people to donate online, or offline with our sponsorship forms. Every penny counts.
4. Get walking! Each team member has their steps added together into one team total.
5. Share your story. Our team can help you publicise what you’re doing to raise funds and awareness of M.E.
Double the impact
Action for M.E. are grateful for the support of a generous family trust, who will double the money raised by every team taking part in Walk with M.E.
This will mean every penny your team raises will be worth twice as much, helping us achieve even more change for people with M.E.”
