Story
Over the past few months, the situation in the East of the city of Aleppo has become unbearable, as the city has been choked by a brutal siege, and airstrikes target the city daily, destroying buildings, hospitals and homes. Thousands of people have lost their lives, as thousands of others remain trapped in the city, searching for a safe exit and a way to survive. Our staff who have worked in the East Aleppo for years, are now trapped, forced to abandon their work as it has simply become too dangerous. Over the next week, an estimated 100,000 people will be leaving the East of Aleppo, and seeking shelter in neighbouring towns and cities. They will be in urgent need of food, shelter and humanitarian assistance. Our teams in other cities in Syria are on standby waiting to receive those who have become internally displaced as a result of the destruction of Aleppo. Please help us to respond to their urgent needs.
