Sleeping out because 80,000 young people in Britain face homelessness each year
Story
1625 Independent People and Ovo Energy are hosting a fantastic fundraising Sleep Out to raise awareness of youth homelessness across the South West.
This Sleep Out is part of National Sleep Out Campaign run by Centrepoint UK. We want to raise £16,250.
Thirteen cities across Britain and up to 2000 people will be taking part in simultaneous events to support youth homelessness charities. All the funds raised in Bristol will stay local and go to 1625 Independent People to help us support over 1300 young people every year.
Ovo Energy and 1625ip staff are volunteering as Event Crew to help us run a massive sponsored sleep out with live entertainment, comedy and a Souper Kitchen, before lights out and reality bites.
Up to 130 people will be fundraising and giving up their beds for the night to make the point that 80,000 homeless is just not on.
