Here at Banham Zoological Gardens, we are absolutely overjoyed by the arrival of an endangered female red panda cub, born on 28 June to first-time mother Mithila. but we need your help finding her the perfect name!
For a small donation, enter our random draw to name our red panda cub. Not only will the winner have the privilege of naming this adorable cub, they will also receive a special red panda experience and complimentary entry into Banham Zoological Gardens in Norfolk.*
Mum, Mithila came from a Swedish zoo to be paired with our resident male red panda, Jasper, as part of the European Breeding Programme for the species in January 2022. Within just five months, the pairing proved successful with the birth of a healthy young cub.
Red pandas are classified as endangered on the International Union for Conservation of Natures (ICUN) Red List of Threatened Species due to habitat loss and hunting for their meat and fur.
Your donation directly contributes towards the care and well-being of our animals. With your support, we are protecting critically endangered animals, saving wildlife, and improving biodiversity in our environment to help tackle the climate emergency. Your donation ensures the future of our zoos so we can continue to connect people with nature. Together we can make a difference.
*All valid entries must include a donation. The raffle will close on Wednesday 9th November 2022. The winner will be announced here on JustGiving and across our social media channels. The winner will then be contacted to arrange their red panda experience. The Zoological Society of East Anglia retains the right to void any entries at our discretion.
