Story

Why are Jane and I along with our dog, Moses walking yet again?

There are hundreds of destitute pensioners who, through no fault of their own, must try and survive without healthcare or pensions. They have already lost all their savings in recent years, stolen from them by the government through hyperinflation.

Now they are facing yet another economic catastrophe. Prices are escalating on a weekly basis as the market rate for US currency teeters out of control: for these pensioners, everyday items like milk and butter are now but a memory.

It is a perilous time to be a dependent pensioner in Zimbabwe, now more than ever. Without ZANE, pensioners tell us they would face a silent and lonely death from malnutrition and the absence of medical care.

So, Jane and I are dedicating this walk to ZANEs loyal supporters, who bring hope, comfort and aidto those who need it most. We also dedicate the walk to our team of compassionate, brave and faithful ZANE workers, who make survival possible. They manage to ensure your donations really are spent wisely and that they are not stolen or lost through corruption. The ZANE team is saving the lives of trapped pensioners who would otherwise face despair: those who have no one to turn to but ZANE.

Please consider sponsoring us once again. Together we can assist more people like Joan, and replace loneliness and despair with hope and love.

Thank you for your support.

Yours sincerely,

Tom Benyon OBE
