Story
Please donate your Zakat and Fitrana to KORT this Ramadhan.
Hundreds of orphaned children depend on your Zakat each year. Your Zakat ensures that the orphaned children in our care are provided with all the necessities for a brighter future.
We believe it is the right of every child to be protected, taken care of physically, psychologically, and emotionally, and these rights do not change when children become orphans.
Through education, good nutrition, physical wellbeing, consistent loving care, and encouragement, we will help our children perform better in school, be healthier, be independent, and have successful careers.
Remember to donate your Fitrana (£5 per head) to KORT before the 15th of Ramadhan so we can distribute it among the poor and needy people in time for them to prepare for and enjoy the festival of Eid.
Anyone who is unable to fast during Ramadhan due to health & medical reasons and is unable to make up the fasts after Ramadhan must pay Fidya at £5 per missed fast. You can donate your Fidya to KORT who will disburse the donations accordingly.
Please don't forget to add Gift Aid to your donations which will help with KORT's admin costs. This also ensures all funds raised go towards this cause.
****Please make sure you provide a breakdown of your donation in the Comments box if it includes different types of donations i.e., Zakat, Fitrana and Fidya****
May Allah accept your fasts and good deeds this Ramadhan and may Allah bless you all in your health, wealth and Imaan.
Frequently asked questions.
What is Zakat?
Zakat, meaning to purify, is the third pillar of Islam and is a compulsory charitable payment that goes on to benefit the poor and needy.
Every sane, adult Muslim whose wealth exceeds the current nisab value must pay Zakat, which is 2.5% of the individuals total wealth.
Nisab is the minimum value of total wealth one must possess in order to pay Zakat. It is defined as the value of 87.5g of pure gold or 613g of silver. Most scholars favour the lower value as it means that more people can pay Zakat and therefore there are more beneficiaries.
