Story
YOUR NHS NEEDS YOU! The fight against COVID-19 is the greatest challenge our National Health Service has ever faced in its 72 year history.
We are living in unprecedented times and every one of our 4,500 staff at Medway Maritime Hospital is working incredibly hard to make sure our patients receive the Best of Care at this most challenging of times.
The pressure is immense for all clinicians, behind-the-scenes staff, plus members of our facilities and estates teams. As always, they are going the extra mile, all day, every day, to take care of you and your loved ones. We are incredibly grateful to have already received so many acts of kindness from our local community. However, with your help, we can do more.
We are launching an appeal to raise money to support our incredible workforce. We are keen to look after our staff during the pandemic and your donations will be used to put together much-needed care packs. Each and every donation - large or small - will make a difference to their emotional and physical wellbeing.
Thank you so much for your support. Please stay home and stay safe! To contact our fundraising team, please email medwayft.charity@nhs.net
Fundraising update: 31/03/2020
Fantastic news! In less than one week, our community has helped raise over £5,000 for the Trust, and the total is still rising. We have already begun to spend some of the money to make life just a little bit easier for staff. With the help of our catering department, care packs containing items such as tea, coffee and snacks are being put together and should start to be delivered by next week. A patio set has also been ordered for the Butterfly (dementia) Garden so that staff can get some fresh air and have somewhere comfortable to relax.
There is also work ongoing to create a wellbeing hub for staff and items including rocking chairs, lamps, yoga mats, plants, games and colouring books have been purchased for this.
THANK YOU
