Story

This week, we received a message from a woman who works in a children's care home. She was asking how to deposit some funds that had been raised for us by a child living in the care home.

We asked a few more questions, and what we discovered absolutely made our day.

A child living in the care home has walked 10,000 steps every day for the past month to raise funds for 52 Lives and encouraged the other two children and staff in the home to join him. He has also baked cakes and made lemonade to sell to the staff.

His care worker said: He chose your charity as you helped his family a long time ago before he came into care. He speaks very highly of you all and is glad he has the chance to give back. He is 10 years old and an inspiration to the young people he lives with and to all the staff that help care for him.

When we shared this story with our supporters, they asked us to set up a fundraising page so they could donate to 52 Lives to support this young boy's efforts. They wanted him to see that his story has inspired a lot of people, who think he's absolutely amazing!
