Story
Yorkshire Water is working with WaterAid on the second phase of a project to support the improvement of water and sanitation provision across 42 towns in Ethiopia, following a successful first phase that focused on 20 towns.
WaterAid are determined to reach everyone, everywhere by 2030 with clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene. But the current rate of progress is far too slow. Its crucial that things change to meet this global challenge.
For people to break free from poverty, its going to take more than installing taps and toilets. Its about connecting up the systems that make it all possible; engineers with years of training and specialist equipment, companies that monitor water quality and guarantee a 24-hour supply, local authorities who coordinate installation and repairs.
By working together, we not only empower people with the know-how, skills and training to plan and manage their services. We also work with utility companies to connect more people to mains services.
Together, we provide the solutions and build the systems that change the infrastructure that changes lives. Between us, we have the commitment, experience, resourcefulness and connections to change millions more lives until everyone everywhere has what so many of us take for granted. Together we can do it.
